WATER RESOURCES
Protecting and Directing Natural Resources
HMT has completed and is proficient in the permitting process for the TCEQ and FEMA. Our teams understand how to design to meet water quality requirements and address drainage issues that include areas over the Edward’s Aquifer, within floodways, and around local water features such as the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers, Alligator Creek, and Blieders Creek.

PROJECTS
No Rise Study
Local city and county municipalities often require No Adverse Impact Flood Studies to be conducted to show that proposed improvements in the floodplain and floodway create no adverse impact to properties and structures upstream and downstream of the site. HMT had conducted no rise studies for such instances as tubing facilities, multi-unit subdivisions, and even single family residential in areas like the Guadalupe River and Lake Dunlap.
Floodplain
HMT conducted a 24-acre site project in New Braunfels that consisted of civil engineering services for Floodplain Channel Design, Detention/Water Quality Design, City Permitting, CLOMR, As-Built Record Drawings, Opinion of Probable Cost and an Environmental Study. The design survey included picking up boundaries, topography, improvements, and ROW locations.
Water Pollution Abatement Plans (WPAP)
HMT has submitted numerous Water Protection Abatement Plans to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. These permits are used to protect the water quality of the water entering the aquifer system through the recharge zone. The permits consist of creating design plans, calculating the optimal best management practices for the site, and compiling the TCEQ submittal.
